GRABB-IT barrier cable chucks are easy-to-use devices:

  • Cable can be assembled and tensioned prior to installation (with wedges fully seated)
  • Excessive lateral forces from tensioning are not exerted on columns
  • Ferrule insert design allows easy installation
  • Neat appearance–no chipping or removal of concrete required
  • Easy maintenance and repair of damaged cable
  • A cost-effective method of installing or re-tensioning barrier cable
  • Works with all types and sizes of strand

Traditional methods of cable installation and repair can’t compare to GRABB-IT. From stressing accessories to hardware, Precision carries the most complete line of jacks and related components in the industry.

GRABB-IT is a patented product and a registered trademark of Precision SURE-LOCK®.

Safety and longevity GRABB-IT has a unique method of fully seating the wedges on the cable prior to installation. This ensures that the cables will not pull loose with expansion and contraction over time. This method also allows installation without putting undue lateral forces on the columns. Superiority in new construction GRABB-IT is installed in new structures with the use of a standard ferrule insert cast into the concrete column. The cable is pushed into the open end of the GRABB-IT chuck where it is locked into place. This eliminates the use of temporary cable pieces, pocket formers, and extensive concrete patching. Easy installation in existing structures GRABB-IT is easily installed in existing structures with the use of an epoxy insert drilled in the face of the existing column. Since work is done at the inside face of the column, there is no need to remove existing pre-cast curtain wall, or other exterior treatments.

The simple, reliable, cost-effective solution to cable installation and repair problems – especially where space is limited and access is a problem.

Replacement of damaged cables With GRABB-IT - Replacement of damaged cables is simple. Just unthread the stem from the insert, remove the old cable from the GRABB-IT, push the new cable into the same GRABB-IT, and rethread into the insert. This method is much simpler and less costly than cutting cables, chipping concrete, attaching new barrel anchors, stressing cables, and re-patching concrete. Cable maintenance With GRABB-IT - Tightening of sagging cables is as simple as threading the stem into the insert. A few turns is usually all it takes. Cost effectiveness Cable installation with the GRABB-IT method can be significantly less costly than traditional methods. Further savings will be seen in future cable maintenance, tightening, replacement, etc. About our company Precision offers a complete line of anchors, chucks, wedges, and jack stressing systems for the prestress, mining and post tension industries.
